A sneak preview

G'day all!

I was going to show you a pic of my bee-yoo-ti-ful new sock in progress but after changing some settings last night so that I can access DH's computer, now the camera and the computer won't talk to each other. Sigh.

Instead, take yourselves along to this site. It's a bit clunky as yet cos I am still working out a few details and some layout stuff. Plus I have by no means got photos of all the yearn, oops, yarn I could sell. Plus I haven't done a page for the neutral coloured stuff.

NEWSFLASH. Managed to download pics, though I haven't shut things down properly... so you get a sneak preview AND a sock pic in one post! You so lucky!



I so have to learn how to dye yarn like that! Not that I want to take someone's livelihood away from them but it is soooo purty! The pattern is based on Sockbug's lava flow - that is the bit closest to the toe but it was overdoing the pattern too muchf or me so I modified it. Frog the sock back? No way! I am not fussed by the change in pattern - I'll probably repeat it on the other one.

    Yeah for you - you have a yarn site!! I like the rust and green thick and thin merino. Although I am dedicated to knitting down my stash some at the moment, I am sure we'll be doing some commerce in the future!!

    Ack! I'm so behind! Missed the Vogue Jacket debut and everything -it's absolutely gorgeous by the way. Your pics from last March are incredible...beautiful cliffs. And I love the new socks - so cute.

LOL G'day all! Apparently I can no longer blog more than once a month. Mea slacka, I admit. So what's been happening here? I've done a lot of knitting recently.  Ahem I may have bought a fair whack of yarn too.  So much for not spending money. I've been sick as a dog this week.  Gah.  I haven't been really ill with a virus for years - last time I was this sick was six years ago.  Man that was a fun month, DH having lost his job whilst we were getting new visas in Oz for said job, having to pack up and move everything we wanted to keep from the States, sell off the car, get rid of stuff.... all with me coughing my lungs up.  And the lymph node that came up that I thought was from a chest infection actually being breast cancer...  oh joy oh bliss. I even went to urgent care (the walk in, no appointment needed doc in a box that you see when your GP is booked out) cos I felt so crappy.   He confirmed it was probably viral and threw a heap of meds (not ABs)

Competition time!

G'day all! Because I am feeling generous at the moment, having given myself a nice dose of mercury (very therapeutic as long as you are Victorian or earlier, doncha know!) and also having developed a grand-niece, I reckon it is time for a competition. What do you need to do? One of two things (or both if you want!). Tell me: about a time you mishandled dangerous chemicals and/or compounds, eg when you played with a mercury switch and blew it up, causing mercury vapour to cover the whole area (including your lungs and skin...) or what I should do to appear more like a great aunt? (Eg how should I dress, what embarrassing habits should I adopt) (Don't say get wrinkly - I am working on that all by myself! LOL) Prizes are your choice of anything up to 100g of yarn not yet sold from my website or if there is something specific you particularly want that is sold I can see if I can dye some more up or do a custom dye job. Not a good post to read

I don't have much good to say today. I don't suggest you read what follows. . . . . . . . . . . I really do mean it. . . . . . . . . I went to the doctor today to get the last part of the puzzle of my cancer. I am a complete mess. I am trying to think of positives - I need some positives. My breast cancer is triple negative. Along with the grade III, poorly differentiated cells and aggressive nature of my cancer, I am losing hope for a good outcome (ie a cure). Tamoxifen will not help me. I was so hoping that it would be estrogen positive cos everyone I know who has had tamoxifen has done well. I have to set my sights lower. Heck, I'll be happy if I am in any shape to make it through next Christmas. It will be a miracle if I am still around in five years, let alone still around and healthy. Every box that can be ticked for a bad outcome is ticked on my pathology report. How much more of this can I take? I have serapax to try to calm me down but I am not game to
